TBH I don't remember getting such an email myself but then back in those days computers were steam driven and someone would have had to pull a big lever to send out an email...

That was the Babbage 175 (175 RPM, that is). It weighed 25 tons and required at least 17 horsepower at the belt and could compute the value of "pi" to fourteen decimal places in just a little less than a month. The Babbage 250 was a tremendous improvement with its two asynchronous co-processing analytical engines and interleaved cog-wheel memory, although the horsepower requirement went to a whopping 35 HP at the belt.

sorry, steam-engine nut here, and it's getting late.

(Joking aside, Mr. Babbage was highly talented and far ahead of his time. It's a pity electronics didn't come along until almost 200 years later.)

Ummm, I guess I'm not sure what you are asking. The fact that you could post that message indicates your login works and your account is active. The system will not let you post if you are not logged in.

If you hit the "home" button or go to www.hhplace.org, you will see the main HHplace page. Those headings you see ("Hellos, Goodbyes, . . . " , "HHplace Cafe. . . ", "Forum and site specific announcements", "The infirmary", etc.) are the forums. Click on one to enter the forum and see the threads. Click on a thread to see it, read it, or reply to it. For further details, go here.

Please forgive me if I have completely missed your point.

Default Re: No permission?

This thread has been helpful. After trying several times to peruse this website, I gave up as it seemed I dint not have "permission" to do anything. This info here is helpful and I hope to be able to wander freely soon.
