Smile High heels: a new way to initiate conversation

Hi everybody,

Let me tell you a little bit of my afternoon yesterday. I went to the library with my wife and my daughter and we sat near two girls studying books. After a while, I realized that one of the girls was wearing shoes that were very similar to my "Salomé" (see my album). Well, imagine that I was on the verge of saying: "Oh, you know, I have got quite the same shoes."

Are high heels a new way to initiate conversation ?

You would have to be brave to do so. I could not.

They can be, but my own experience hasn't really delivered.

One day at work, I was wearing a pair of flat Payless Mary Janes, actually a nice pair of shoes that were leather and were expensive for Payless.

Anyways, a woman from another department walked by wearing the same shoes. Without thinking I smiled, stuck my foot out, and said, "Well, at least we're not wearing the same dress."

She smiled and said, "Well, that's good," and continued on her way without another word.

I never saw her wearing those shoes again, coincidence?

This winter, on bad days, I've been wearing a pair of Target black suede Fuggs (fake Uggs). I've even worn them part of the day with my pants tucked in. Nobody has said a word. But, a woman in my department showed up wearing a pair of low wedge, moc toe, suede boots that were absolutely nothing like Uggs, and at least 3 people asked her if they were Uggs. Ok, so I'm jealous. Do people disapprove, or do they just never see men's shoes?

I think most people don't look at a man's shoes, because 999 out of 1000 men wear something dull and uninteresting on their feet. Sneakers, boring flat shoes or whatever just aren't worth noticing.

No, I am willing to bet she threw them out. Got caught at work with some else wearing the same shoes and a man no less. To much of a shock.

Perhaps 99 out of 100... Yesterday in a club I've seen a guy with a girl, and he was wearing "men's" black patent ankle boots with pointy toes. Oh my, these shoes looked divine! I complimented him, and he acknowledged that. That was the first time I told a guy something positive about his shoes.
