The heel is higher than it looks (4.5") and they are very comfortable. I have only worn them driving so far (and there is a tale to tell about the last time I drove in them....but that's for another day!).

They're originally from Barratts/Saxonne and I've wanted a pair for ages. They're no longer avalable on the high street but I've seen two more pairs of UK 7's on Ebay recently.

Also, I saw a very attractive lady wearing a pair of these last weekend in my local Asda. I nearly dropped my shopping :-) I haven't seen them "on the street" since last summer and that one sighting set me on the hunt to find a pair. Thanks again hhds :-)

By Jingo, THE SAME HEEL!

I've just bought several pairs of River Island's ankle boots with EXACTLY THE SAME underslung 4 1/2" slim Louis Heel! I'm delighted with them and wore them at the very recent Birmingham UK Heel-Meet.

If anyone is interested, I strongly recommend snapping-up some by visiting a branch of River Island. They are made up to a size 8, but they run big and that fits my size 9 foot. One ankle boot with the heel is called "Bev" (available in beige and black so I bought both), and another ankle boot with a slight shorter shaft (leg) is called "Blower".

Having a comfortable square toe, the above heel, and glorious SOFT, SOFT leather, they are great to look at and a treat to wear!

I love those so much it makes me want to cry! If only they made them in UK11....... If anyone sees a pair like that in size UK11/US13 black leather (not patent), please buy them for me (max GBP £100/Euro €150/USD $175) and I'll reimburse you immediately!
