Speaking of Japanese culture, anyone familiar with visual kei bands?

Visual kei (ヴィジュアル系 vijuaru kei?, literally "visual style") refers to a movement in Japanese popular culture characterized by the use of eccentric, sometimes flamboyant looks. This usually involves striking make-up, unusual hair styles and elaborate costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgyny or distinctively feminine or bishōnen aesthetics.[1]

The band members almost always (if not always) wear some kind of heels. Though all I've seen are platform types mostly, and boots. I haven't seen pumps.

I've seen pics of Visual Kei singers, plus some very nice regular Japanese singers ("regular" meaning non-visual kei, but you knew that) who wore very striking clothes, including heels.

Speaking of all things Japan, if you look up "Harajuku", you'll see a number of really cool styles, including Elegant Gothic Lolita and others. Fun stuff!

One of my fave singers, Mari Iijima, usually has nice heels on when she performs as well, and Chikako Sawada had some cool ones on when I saw her video as well.
