I like a bit of wear to be evident on a pair of shoes or boots. I remember the thrill of seeing the soles and heel tips slightly worn, after wearing high heels out for the first time.

I think the appearance of leather boots improves with a bit of wear. I like the way the leather folds and gently gathers around the ankles and the toebox slightly lifts. The texture and grain of the leather also reveals itself more after a few weeks' wear.

I can understand the concept of, maybe, loving your boots so much you wear them to destruction, but not deliberately setting out to destroy them. Like others have said, that's a waste. Hey, still, whatever floats your boat.

I get a great deal of pleasure form wearing brand new boots for the first time. I like to look down on the creaseless, shiny vamp and the slipperyness of the soles as you walk. Sometimes I will wear my new boots home from the shop and then discard them rarely wearing them again which is why I have so many pairs!

I like to wear new boots for the first time, but I also like looking at them with a bit of wear on, proving that I've been out and about in them. I don't like scratched-up heels, tho', so I don't drive in them any more. I hate scuffed and battered shoes, so I try and keep mine nice.

I've never seen the point of this 'abused shoes' stuff myself, but hey - whatever floats your boat ;)
