I, for one, found it much easier to post pictures under the old system that it is to post them today. |
Hi Bubba
Yes, there were a lot of problems with spam in previous years but with the changes implemented in the last 9 months since I took on hhplace, we practically have ZERO spam, ever now... and the 2 or 3 times we have encouncered spam from an actual person rather than a spambot, we removed it in less than 6 hours if I remember correctly.
Bandwidth used to be a small problem as the community used to be hosted on a VPS which is still a shared hosting account but runs an entire operating system, but the community now has access to full server resources, and we have tons more bandwidth available so its not going to be a bandwidth problem.

Hi TB2
Thanks, that sounds like a pretty good idea and easy enough to implement without any headaches

The admins at The Fashion Spot employ this same system, which makes pictures hosted at The Fashion Spot's server invisible to viewers, unless they are registered and logged in. Would this new system have the same effect? |
Hiya KH
Bandwidth isnt a problem, but I'm not sure where you got this idea that costs will be passed on to the hhplace members? I didnt say anything at all about costs
I do like the idea of users not registered/logged in not being able to see the pictures though, might help all the lurkers come out of the woodwork

Hey Doc
Yep, all mods are able to edit any post anywhere on the site, which includes editing/deleting images attached to posts.
The only thing that does worry me is the amount of "inappropriate images" that always crop up in the CD/TV section, as this seems to be a regular source of questionable images
