Default [Question] I am...?

If I recall correctly, the account registration form required a declaration of gender when I signed up. I've since noticed that some of the membership do not have an "I am..." tag next to their posts. How are they doing that? Is that a privilege of advanced membership?

"Molly," who didn't really know which to choose, because (s)he usually identifies as female when wearing skirts and heels, but who has just discovered (through this board, I might add) and is fascinated by the idea of "fashion freestyling," which declares that we do not have to be female to enjoy some of the things that women get to do.

You probably didn't have to pick one awhile ago, but now it probably mandatory to keep males & mtf crossdressers out of the female forums and female & ftm crossdressers out of the male forums.

I'm not sure but I think that all those who declared gender at a time before it was mandatory do not have the "I am" next to their gender.

The main reason we made it mandatory is because males were "hijacking" posts made in the "for the girls" forum and taking them off topic or putting forwards their own agenda which weren't always compatible with those of the original poster. A lady would post something totally innocently only to have half a dozen predatory males "hitting on her". Therefore we took the step to ban guys from the girls' forum.

We made the "I am male/female" caption under members' names to make it easier to police the forum.

If you dont see a "male/Female" thing on somebodies post, check the last time they logged in (Viewable from their profile page)

You may find that it doesn't show simply because they haven't logged in since it was changed but the next time they log in it will not allow them to post anything until they update their profile.

(Or thats how its meant to work anyway)

I was reluctant to comment on this, but it seems yet another case of the few (I hope it was only a few) spoiling things for the many. For my entire life, beginning with my own mum, I have faced the fear, mistrust, and anger of women who have suffered at the hands of men. It only makes life harder for those of us who do not treat others in that way, and both saddens and angers me when anyone contributes to the ill repute we already have.
