Default Guys and Girls - just a thought...

...regarding us poor guys who have made the mistake of posting in the "For the girls" forum (it looks like this happens on a fairly regular basis), and having our posts deleted; how about, right at the top of the "Post New Thread" and "Reply to Topic" pages, a hard-to-miss message like "This forum for the girls ONLY - NO guys, please!," or something to that effect? It might save us all a little time and/or effort.

I know you've got the rules clearly posted, but it's obvious many of us seem to miss that little detail.

Hi Smitty

To be honesty, this problem only seems to happen with members who dont actually read the rules, or there emails it seems....

If you use the "Todays posts" or receive notifications by email of subscribed threads/forums, it does tell you which forum the message has been posted in, and we did send out a mass email to ALL members as a reminder of the updated rules on the website.

All new members also get a welcome email telling them in big letters that GUYS are not allowed to post in the girls forum.

If people actually just took a minute to slow down and have a read of whats going on then this wouldnt happen.

When we bring it to a members attention why there post was deleted, the most common reply was simply that they didnt read the rules or that they just scanned there email quickly to find the login details.

So it seems no matter how many warnings you put in place, some people only read the parts they want to read and nothing else.

(I'm not making any accusations, I'm just stating what I have been told from members who have apologised after we have explained why we deleted there posts)

Its human nature though, and I'm sure we have all done it at some point somewhere in life, we just scan for the important bits and think "i'll check the rest later"

A common comparison might be when you rent a car, lots of people miss the small print that says you must bring the car back with a full tank of fuel as they just want to get in the car and go...

The company or website staff then get it in the neck from the customer/user for not telling them....

Oh well, like I said, we've all done it, thats human nature I guess

When I get on I read New Posts and all the forum messages are together. If I don't look closely at the message headers (and most times I don't) I will not notice the message is from the women's group. A larger header might help.

You shouldnt need to "look closer" as the forum the messages are in is listed on the right hand side and its the same size text as the message title.

Its pretty clear what forum each message is in isnt it?

Like I suggested, there should be a software mod checking the database whether a person is a biological male or female (sex choice is mandatory during registration) and disallowing men from posting in the girls' section. When a man tries to post there, he'll get a message "Sorry, but only females are allowed to post in this forum" and moderators/ admins will have less work to do :).

Hey,

I say that the "no men" rule for the female forum and allowing women to post in the men's forum is rather like the fact that women can wear anything they wish and not get crap, but they give men crap for wearing heels. This topic has been done before, so please stop rubbing it in the faces of those who did post there without taking over and had to quit because of some who couldn't control themselves.

I've followed the rules.

Yes, there is nothing to gain from this thread.
