For some reason, when I logged on tonight I was not allowed to view any of the forums unless I filled in some more info in my profile. I just checked my profile and compared it to a few others and noticed they dont have to show the same info as I have and I cannot even hide it?

Is this a new addition to the site?

This is a setting that has been added to try and assist determine members who are male from female.

Despite the rules for the girls forum, and all the deleted posts that are still visible stating no guys posting in the girls forum, it seems a lot of guys still post in the girls forum, so it has been requested by the rest of the team to give this a trial.

Usernames are simply not always easy to tell if a member is male or female so this is probably going to be a tweak that stays.

Plus of course it has the added benefit that spam signup robots that try to register and account here automatically now cant get passed this manual check either

Obviously we know its not fool proof as it does rely on a members honesty but should the rest of the team now find a member claiming to be a girl and this turns out to NOT be the case, an instant ban will more than likely be imposed without warning.

It seems rules, deletions and warnings are simply not enough.....
Funny how the girls dont need all these rules put on them!!

Also, sorry but I missed this last part of your question.......
You will only be prompted to update your profile when you either login, or try to make a post so if you see profiles that are not showing this info then it is just because that member has not logged in or tried to post anything.

Eventually, over time, all profiles will show it for members who post things.
