You can't change your shoe rank picture except by posting more.

You need to resize your custom avatar pic. It is far too big. Please resize to 100x150 pixel or something like that. If you can't do it or don't know how, I will help you.

Does anybody know what has happened to some of the Avatars and images on this BB ? :(

I did a little investigation by examing a number of these missing images. I placed my mouse cursor over these empty rectangles, then right clicked once, then selected PROPERTIES. I made note of the URL ADDRESS storing the image. The first part of all the missing ones began with http://65.160.96.70/hhplace/ which is the storage location of our original image server.

Back in 2002, the person who had control of the original upload server had posted here that he was allowing our members free usage of his server to post images only if they were linked to this site. But over time, some people abused this privelage by cross-linking to other unapproved sites.

Some months ago, we lost access to upload new images. However, for those of us who had uploaded images earlier, we were still allowed access to link to those images.

Then in September 2004, many of the images posted here were replaced by blank rectangles with the red X. One of our members (chris100575) posted on September 27 that "The hhplace upload server was discontinued. It was provided as a favour by one of the members, but people abused it."

Another one of our members (kneehighs) found a free alternative image upload site at http://www.imagehost.org/. I uploaded my images there and now they appear in my avatar and postings.

Firefox posted this about this new upload site. "They don't allow adult pics, fetish pics or topless pin up pics so beware and just use it for shoes and fashion pics and stick to the rest of their terms which are on their website."

no, only where people have re-uploaded their pics to the new upload sites, there has been no mass transfer of pics.

If you can't find it, try browsing your internet cache with Paint Shop Pro thumbnalis or similar. The chances are it's in there.
