Lightbulb New colour scheme for hhplace.org

Hi Everybody....

I would like to propose an idea that I change the colour scheme of this website to make it less "macho" and dump all the strong blue colours for something much more "generic" yet modern looking...

As I will be changing the website name back to hhplace.org once the domain transfer is finished I think a slight facelift in the colour scheme department might be a good idea.

As this is "The High Heel Meeting place, I think we should go for a generic colour scheme instead of all this damn blue everywhere but at the same time, not go in the other direction and go all pink either...

I sincerely look forward to seeing your choices and ideas and this is just my first suggestion so please dont kill me for it if you dont like it, that is after all why I am asking all the community what they would prefer.

In order to choose or help to choose a colour scheme, I shall start the ball rolling with this...

Go to: http://www.defencemechanism.com/color

Then enter "AAC400" into the # box in the bottom right corner then hit the submit hex button to see the colour scheme that is automatically suggested to match.

Alternatively, just keep hitting the random button until you find something you like then copy/paste the 6 digits in the #box here so we can all check it out..

I like the green in 337D20

Max Lüscher found that the color green is associated with positive self-esteem.

Is it possible to allow each individual member to select the color they like best as the color for their display? If it is, why not let members chose their favorite for themselves or stay with whatever default color the Admin selects?

Hi JNR

This is possible but is a complete pain in the backside to code into the forum and also makes forum upgrades a complete headache because if I were to upgrade the forum software in a few months (for security patching or new features for example) then everything would get screwed up and have to be "re-patched" all over again.

Plus, (and this is just my professional opinion) I think its better to stick to having 1 uniformed colour scheme to keep things constant throughout the website for ease of usability, user recognition and for lack of a better word, "branding"

thanks again for your feedback though... let me know if you have any further comments on the suggested colour scheme or would like to propose an alternative colour scheme.

I am extremely keen to get this blue dumped site wide for something more "visitor / topic friendly"

Thx
Rich

I thought this was about what it looked like? not what it means.

IMHO the sub red heel of the old place was pleasing, and meant nothing to me, it just looked good.

^ For me, what it means is part of what makes it look and feel good, but thats just my opinion.
