Default [Problem] What is causing my log in problems?

Good news bad news!! First the good news. I am now a fiber optic network to my house. They install and equipment was for free on their initial offer so I took it up and I will save five bucks a month on of it.

Bad news !! I did something rather dumb and ended up paying somebody at Best Buy 77 dollars to reinstall drivers on my computer do to the fact they were on a restoration partion of my computer and I erased them not knowing the drivers and the OEM software are no longer on the recovery disk. (at least for E machines/Gateway.) Doing so, I was unable to even get on line to search for them my self. So GF and I went to Best Buy and while we were there GF bought a new lap top for her self for school.

The problem, between two computers at home using my new wireless router, neither are able to allow MS Windows do down load the updates. It's just start to scan and then after 5 minuets it pops up a trouble code.
I spent three hours with the IP tech today and we figured it's something that Best Buy did. But I am having a problem login on to this forum as well, any suggestions where I can look to resolve this problem? Or what this forum has for security that might be the same reasoned why I can't do the MS update?

The usual problems are some kind of firewall or security software or the inability to accept and store third party cookies.

These things may have been changed in your general update. It is usually security settings which are to blaim.

Bingo Fox!!

Took GF's lap top to Best Buy and they had no problems, but the service rep had seen this before and it happens time to time. It's router's firewall giving me problems.

I seem to fix the problems at my end but I a still having an issue
logging on to the hh place. I ask for a new pass word but I never get in my email. akatezasbumpkin can log on her account with no problems, she sends me private messages but I don't receive them. It's the only place I can't log on to, and I wonder if you can see if any thing can be done to eliminate that it's the problem is at this end.

Thanks
