My Mood: Rep Power: 4 | Overwide avatars I've notice a few people recently have chosen avatar images that are rather wide which causes the text of the posts to get squished rather unnecessarily.
It's just something that was starting to annoy me so I thought I'd have a rant! |

Rep Power: 22 | I have to agree, seems there were guidelines posted somewhere in here that resricted the size of avatar images.
What bugs me even more are overly large images posted in the body of postings that force you to use a horizontal scroll bar in order to read any of the postings on that page. I run a resolution of 1280 x 1024 and still need to contend with these %$$#^ horizontal scroll bars.

My Mood: Rep Power: 72 | Rant Forum - get it off your chest here:-) I hate it too when you have to use the horizontal scroll bars back and forth, back and forth in order to read anything. I lose patience with that kind of reading rather quickly.
Cheers---

Rep Power: 21 | I agree, but I can't find the thread with the exact dimension limits (as it was brought up in another thread). If somone would be so kind to post what the limit dimensions are and maybe sticky it up so we can all see it, that would be great.

Rep Power: 21 | Nevermind, answered my own question. It is under the profile when you pick an avatar.
"Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 163 pixels, the height no greater than 110 pixels, and the file size no more than 7 KB." |

My Mood: Rep Power: 26 | I simply just send a PM asking to down size, most are willing to comply.
Has any one else has asked before having a hissy?

I used to use this phpBB forum on my site, and the restriction for avatars worked fine. But it doesn't seem to work here. Perhaps an admin could take a look at the settings.

I posted a smaller version of the gif in the animated gif thread. I agree though, it would be nice if the software enforced the rules, but I guess it is still up to us to use what seems reasonable.
