Just noticed your avatar is stored in photobucket. It has a reduce size feature. Click Edit, then you can reduce by 25, 50, or 75. The reduction is permanent, so you might want to load a test picture and try various percentages until you get what you like.

If you are running XP then this little gadget from M$ gives you instant resizing of images. Download and instal "Image Resizer". Then all you do is right click on the image file and select the size you want. Very handy.
