Default What posting order do you prefer?

The updated board software only has the last post at the top option. How much does this matter to you?

I prefer the new software as it's now easier to see the latest post on a topic with out having to scroll down the page. :)

I prefer the previous default.

My motivation: when I start reading a post, I start at the first line and work my way down to the last line of that post. If I should want to read the post that chronologically follows the post that I had just read, I would have to go upwards on my screen to the start of that new post, and work my way down in it. In other words: my direction on the screen changes from reading downwards to jumping upwards to reading downwards, et cetera.

I quite agree 100% with Tom-NL as I have exactly the same problems posting under the new software. I much prefer posting under the old method of the new post being last and in cronological order. I have already cast my vote in the above poll to keep the old method of cronological order. Thanks--- Cheers---

If my previous posting under "Posting Order Reversed" is correct then this poll is not needed.
However I am quite prepared to admit to saying/asking some thing stupid because the ability to reverse the order has been there for I dont know how long, since I became a member of this board maybe.
So either we can reverse the order of the threads as I mentioned in the other post if we choose or I dont know what you are all talking about.

It's really confusing on this new default!

It's far more natural to read from top to bottom.... i.e. oldest post at the top and latest at the bottom. Especically when you are trying to fast read through the history of a post to get the feeling for what it's about.

Also the current system just doesn't work on multi-pages, once you've posted it takes you to the last page e.g. page 8 and the start of the thread.

Also when you want to reply you have to go all the way to the bottom of the page and therefore can't see the most recent post that you are replying too...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE change the order back!

It is confusing when something changes the way it works, and I agree with others who said it's more natural to read from top to bottom.
Also how many books have the ending on the first page. Plus the software throws you back to the end (first post) after you reply, so it is inconsistent in its ordering of posts.

I much preferred the old order, it seemed much more natural to read a thread starting at the top of page one.

I like the old way.
I'm in several boards of phpBB, and all have the oldest posts at the top as default.
Like Tom-NL said, with the new version I scroll down to where I have been since reading, then it is up....down....up....down.... to the top of the page.

Robert
