Hi Becky

firtsly, welcome
secondly, the picture you wish to use as an avatar needs to be uploaded to a part of the net that can be 'hotlinked' (shown from a webpage outside of it's webspace). Once this has done you have to put the full URL in the box for avatar, remembering to put in the http:// bit or it won't work

hope this helps you :)

A lot of places like geocities or angelfire don't allow you to serve their images to other websites so you have to pick and chose where you put it. Alternatively, find a picture you like that's already on the web and use that. To find out what the URL of the pic is, right button click it with the mouse, select "properties", and copy the URL displayed. There are restrictions on avatar size, no bigger than 7k, which is quite small. That's so the board loads quickly.

I am finding that perhaps once or twice per week. occasionally more often, the forum index page 'forgets' my threads already visited and read losing all the yellow blobs so it seems I have read everything. I do have a Cookie manager but hhplace.org is set to accept them.

Any tweaks to suggest anyone?
