Rep Power: 10 | Appropriate action has been taken.
Unfortunately this can't be done automagically. Usually the first moderator who sees this happening will fix it.

My Mood: Rep Power: 14 | The board works pretty fine, even if it takes lots of time (compared to usenet, for example) to wade through the new messages. There is also too much traffic for being able to follow it all, unless you really check daily. The search function displays only what has been posted yesterday and today (which is PLENTY)...
I really would like to see it become possible to see the threads that have new messages in them, and not the individual messages.
Another fine improvement would be the use of some kind of tree structure, because now I always check the newest messages list and reply there. There may be several things ongoing elsewhere that I have missed...
Then one last question: how do you search for things that do NOT have something? I'm eg not interestedin the word matching game, and since there are a lot of messages posted on that one, I tried to search * -"word association game" and * NOT "word association" etc. to no avail...
But for the rest no complaints...!!!
The comments are meant to be constructive!
Thanks for the great job!

My Mood: Rep Power: 14 | oh yes one more thing... when you have posted, you are put back into the forum (which is good) but it catapults you always to the first page of messages, while the most interesting ones (at any given time) are always in the back...

My Mood: Rep Power: 45 | Boolean (eg and/or +/-) search is not supported in this version. I hope it will be later.
We do have heavy traffic. That is a disadvantage for users who are not regular. One solution is to beome regular or spend some time reading to catch up. It doesn't mattter much about the format, on a heavy traffic board, you will always struggle to keep up with everything.
I agree about the last part. We need redirection to the last page of the thread as default. I hope this will be fixed, or an option provided, in an update. |

My Mood: Rep Power: 22 | I have a 4D browser mouse and after I post a message and before it goes through to displaying the thread, I click back twice and then refresh. Works every time. The mouse just makes it easier as BACK is a button on it |

Rep Power: 13 | Don't want to sound silly etc, but do Microsoft make that type of mouse. What brand is yours?

My Mood: Rep Power: 45 | If Microsoft make something, that's usually a pretty good reason for NOT getting it I have used Francis's mouse and it's pretty good. I takes some getting used to though. |

My Mood: Rep Power: 22 | don't know the brand name of my mouse, but for those that have an interest, it looks like this http://www.desmat.com/mouses.htm#4doptical
except mine is dark grey instead of blue and has a red led at the bottom
what can I say? I love it! |

Well, usenet is ofcourse faster because you have the user interface on your own system and the only thing being dowloaded is a bit of text.
Web interfaces are always a tradeoff between size/speed and looks/ease-of-use.

The board as it is build up doesn't support threading, it would be possible to add this, but since I'm keeping my eye on the new version of the board this is not going to happen. I don't think the new version supports threading either, but I might look into that before starting to use it.
I personally like the way Google handles things for the newsgroups, it's a combination of flat and threading.
