Hey y'all...

Many of you already know that i provide a storage place for pictures (http://65.160.96.70/hhplace/)...

I'm thinking about putting up some gallery software to aid those less fortunate than I (yes.. i am gloating about dual T3 speed, 90MB/s, and unlimited bandwidth ). I was thinking about 5 MB per user for space and ONLY pictures that deal with this board (I've had trouble in the past with people linking pictures to other sites that don't have anything to do with this one). We could link this by maybe http://galleries.hhplace.org/.

Any comments?

Great idea Bpalma. I'd like to put up a gallery of my shoes as well as condensed versions of interesting street scene fashions all with great high heels featured. I think I could restrict the pics to 25-50k each, which would allow a gallery of 100-200 pics in 5mb.

Perfect idea.I have the names of almost all pics I have put on your machine so then you can take them away :) . I try to make´m small50-70 kb.It´s s good idea for us with broadband

It's a great idea to reduce the picture sizes. You can get huge amount in 30k especially of you crop the picture to show the subject clearly. I have to slam my head on the keyboard everytime people upload these 0.5mb unedited jpegs which take up about 4 screens.

Since it was mentioned here in the forum in some thread:

I videotaped part of a show broadcasted on German TV Sat.1 featuring ballet heels. The reporter demonstrated her ability to walk in ballet heels over quite a distance w/ no problems. I'd like to put this file to a public place where it can be downloaded but I don't have the web storage space required: The file, once transferred into Mpeg1-format from VHS video tape, takes about 90MB. I don't know if it can be shrunk any further (DivX?) and hence must assume I need to have it that size to keep the quality at a high level. Could you spare another 90MB for this?

If you put it into MP4 format you should be able to reduce it to at least ~ 22 MB, Divx should be able to reduce even that down to less than 10 MB. Get someone to reduce it before posting--just a suggestion. MP1 is a notorious MB hog.

I posted this once before but got no responce.

Is it possible to allow members to view all the images they post? Since the names that are assigned to our postings are long and not descriptive, it's hard to remember them. So why not place each members images into their own folder. Then give each member access to their own folders to view and delete images?
