Jennie,

Well that's something - at least they've contacted you.

I've heard nothing, either from them or from PayPal, I'm going to send a letter to Trading Standards soon, and copy them in on it.

Thanks for the update.

Success!

Received my PayPal refund today - I'd have preferred my boots, but at least I got my money back.

Thanks for all your help, hope you get yours too.

I have had so many problems with these people, I have had to go to trading standards. Demonicarts told me boots were out of stock (seems to be quite common for them to use that story). I asked for a refund and was told they were having problems with PayPal, so would send me a cheque, which of course I have never received. Hopefully Trading Standards will be able to help.

Taking money by deception is Fraud, thats a criminal offence and should be reported to the police, not just trading standards.

I'd telephone them and make this crystal clear, and if possible, record your conversations with them, and keep EVERY email too, and card payment receipts/statements.

(Most nokia mobiles can record your phone calls in the phone)

1 word of advice too, NEVER trade with anybody who wont speak to you directly (Telephone) If they dont have a phone number on their web site, then they honestly dont want your money, and dont have a genuine interest in good service.

Michael Bell is the owner of the web site.

2 Numbers: A) 07517 333723 B) 0113 2165340

Also, refunds should only be provided in the original format the payment was received in (Fraud reasons) and PayPal in the UK are having no problems at all at the moment, so its going to be a user-error at his end.

Hi

I placed my order & paid 100% up front on 01/12/07, I finally got my money back by cheque via post at the end of April 2008 a long with a letter of apology. I think this was due to the fact that I posted the problems I was having with them on as many places on the internet that I could.

I you look closely at the web site no company number is quoted and no phone numbers are quoted, also virtually everything is out of stock. Additionally they don't accept credit cards & there can't be a problem with paypal as they are collecting their money this way. Additionally paypal did not want anything to do with my complaint.
I'm sure Bell has good intentions but at present I don't think his website is receiving enough orders to run in a more efficient manor.

Hi,

I came across the complaints and thought i better clear some things up,
I worked for DemonicArts several months back & i can tell you that the company has no intention of ripping anybody off!
The company is/was only a a four staffed company and was pretty small with big plans!
D/Arts has been going for 4 years and Bell (Director) has battled through a hell of alot of problems until a one came up with paypal which left the staff of DemonicArts out of work & struggling.
The last i heard was that they were persuing the problem through court as paypal limited their accounts.

The paypal problem - D/arts used paypal for the payments, i think the only reason they didn't process card payments was because the company could not intergrate certain software into their site. I remember testing out intergration with a virtual terminal from HSBC but it could not been done.
The reason paypal limited their account was that Paypal do regular check ups on businesses every now & then. We did provide paypal with all the documents that they required within the 1st week. Unfortunately paypal didn't do quite as they said they would do x50 over the phone (this is 2 months messing around without any income, wages or withdrawls). My guess is this kinda caused the problems. Instead they contacted D/arts via email stating that they would not have their account back. This is were Bell told us (the staff) that he is going to have to let us go until further notice. I am in contact with Bell still & do know that he is working hard full time on two jobs to sort things out. I did enjoy working for DemonicArts. Bell is a goldhearted guy - im 100% sure that eventually he will sort out his company & this mess.

The phone number for the landline is correct, its Bell's office phone although i know nobody is in the office
The mobile number, is not Bell's it belongs to another ex staff member - not sure how that came about :-/

By all means, IM/PM me & i'll do what i can.
I'll keep you updated with the outcome & sorry for the run around

Michael

Heart of gold, 4 members of staff etc. In the real world no one really cares about the soppiest of sob stories if they don't get the goods they paid for. Especially if they then have to chase the owners via his girlfriend on Myspace!!!???

Maybe if there was a short note explaining that they are a small company it would help people decide whether to buy from Demonic Arts or not. When it states 'DemonicArts - Huge range of high quality goth, cyber & fetish shoes and boots and clothing' on the website it alludes to some sort of decent customer service.

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Benno

DemonicArts has had great customer support until the director had to let his staff go - In my eyes this was a mistake but i can understand why it was done, maybe with the intention of sorting the problem(s) out more quickly than thought.

Hey

No offence here but any company who does not divulge their contact information to customers on their web site simply doesn't want the customers, and by ONLY taking paypal, your telling potential customers that you don't even have a merchant account, no SSL on your web site, so nobody has ever had to verify who you guys really are.

Any business owner who only accepts payments via PayPal shouldn't be running the business because this is asking for problems, but your complaints go back over a year old, so why hasnt your fantastic boss opened a merchant account with a bank and started taking cards on the web site like everybody else does? Its not difficult and not expensive.

Our own bank (HSBC) were a freckin pain in the ass for web site integration so we left and went to Lloyds and within 10 days everything was working just fine, so there really is no excuse.

I really dont see how you can say the owner has good intentions and a heart of gold because obviously he has done nothing to resolve any of the issues and save your jobs?
