My Mood: Rep Power: 5 | Re: World Heel Meet 2008, London: Sat. Feb. 16th I got to the Miller at around 11am with Heeluis via taxi. Was wearing my red cross-strap 5" heels. Had a good chat with most of the group at the meet. Tried on a few pairs of Dr shoes heels and ended up buying 2 pairs. Luckly for me that we both have the same shoe size. Had a very good time and was able to wear my heels all day while at the meet. left at the same time as every one else but didn,t go for the meal but went back to the hotel with Kneehighs. In the evening went to see Spamalot with Heelius. |

My Mood: Rep Power: 9 | Cathy and I wouldn't miss the 4th Annual World Heel Meet for the world!
After we gather ourselves and put feet back on the ground again let's see who, what, when we can do for 2009. Glad to hear Heelfan will also help, local organizers are critical for success.
Cheers,

I need to cool off a bit to see if I have the energy to organize another one of these.
If I can couple the time at The Miller with London Fashion Week, then most likely it will be a go. | Was awesome finally meeting after more than ten years of corresponding! Look forward to the next meet! We had such a great time chatting, there is so much more to chat about.

I really enjoyed it, particularly the pavement excursions.
Were there any reactions to this bizarre & unusual sight? Well actually, I only spotted two:-
1. A security man in Debenhams who’s eyes alighted on, and remained glued to, my footwear as I walked past him.
His face was absolutely blank; it was as though he was at a complete loss in processing the visual information presented to him.
2. Three teenage girls outside Selfridges who followed closely behind us, nudging & whispering to each other. As we slowed down (we'd decided to go back in the opposite direction), they passed by and one of them cast a curious look back in my direction. I caught her eye and smiled at her and she looked away quickly as though embarrassed about something! ...snip.... | Quote:

Next meet i will certainly make the effort to have an all day visit but due to family commitments this visit had to be cut short.
All i can say to any future 'newbies' is that it is an ideal location - ncp car park right next door (not the cheapest but it is London whats new) and plenty of room to heel in the pub on the great wooden floors.
Thanks to everyone that had put in their time and effort to organise things , i would thoroughly recommend it,heeled or not.Its just good to chat face to face with like minded souls!
Bladerunner | Notice the number of firsts that we have here. These are the one's written about too. I know for a fact it was Loveshiheels first heel meet and -sm-'s first meet too. That's five firsts.
At the 2006 World Heel Meet we had 19 attendees
At the 2007 World Heel Meet we had 28 attendees
At the 2008 World Heel Meet we had 30 attendees
We have a definite pattern of growth here! If this sounds exciting to you and you would like to experience a World Heel Meet first hand, be on the look out for a new post coming soon. |

Rep Power: 4 | Re: World Heel Meet 2008, London: Sat. Feb. 16th Hello,
thanks for all who were there and the few who makes the program of this heelmeet. And nice the put the metingplaces on the map so we foreners, a lot were able to find it too.
And be in Londen for the ... time it helps knowing the tube system.
I had a lot of fun go as Maria by the tube in easy boots with 10 cm block heels, skirt and wig. And I was a little undone by the lack of commonds from the people. But happy too. It meens nobody take notice and you can do a lot before it will noticeable by the people or in the worsecase be pick at.
And I hope to see a few of the pics there were taken from this heelmeet. There were less taken but be longer in Londen I would be a shame when not having some hard facks to prove. Even when they are put in the member area no problem.
Looking forward to the next meeting.
love your heels

My Mood: Rep Power: 0 | Re: World Heel Meet 2008, London: Sat. Feb. 16th I wanted to come to this, but was nervous and scared, as I had only just built the confidence up to wear my heels outside. Now I'm more confident, will hopefully attend next years. I'm actually going to london tomorrow and intend on wearing my boots all day, though they'll be under my jeans.
It looks like you all had a really good day, I look forward to meeting you all next year. |

I can tell you, meeting other people in February interested in wearing high heels, made a big difference to my confidence level. Today you'll be in London 'showing off' your heels I hope, so the 2009 meet will be waaaay too late for you make a difference to whether you go 'public' or not. But maybe others who are unsure? Or maybe there are people out there who'd like to attand and maybe are unsure if they'd enjoy it?
As has now been declared, I'm directly involved in helping with the organisation of the 2009 event. I'm keen to get as many 'newbies' as possible to attend the next meeting, as well as getting as many of the more experienced heelers there too.
I'm uncertain what would keep interested people away, but my intention is to remove as many barriers as possible.
Need someone to go with?
Trouble getting there?
Not sure about being seen by others?
How do I get to the venue, where is (was) the front door?
PM me if you have a query ..... I'm sure I can help. ..... |
