To a3: Hi! We must point out that the area proposed is South-East Wales (not South-East England) which would be a longer journey for European visitors.

To Loriette: Previous Heel-Meets doing the bargain shoes in the January sales have been fairly popular. Late January seems a good idea for an initial informal get-together, although numbers would be greater in the Spring and early summer when members are more disposedf to travel larger distances. Although Nigel said January seems to early because of the sales crowds, any later than that would miss the best shoe bargains and defeat that particular object.

Saturdays have always best days for a good attendance. We have found an assembly time of 10.30 - 11 is about right, usually at a coffee shop or similar before moving-off for shoe shopping, lunching, socialising etc.

I hope you can soon post a date for us all to aim at.

Cheers, Heelfan

thanks for the tips heelfan.

Provisional date January 17 (Sat) 10.30am venue Cardiff.

Can anyone recomend a meet point that allows for car users,[ car park by "Toys-r-us"?], train/bus users, possibly around Hayes/David morgans area?. I only go to Cardiff a couple of times a year, so am not that familiar with resteraunts or cafe`s as I only tend to spend an hour or so shopping.

Default heel meet

Hallo,

when there is a date please put it on here. Who ever want to get there to the meeting perhaps someone can make some copy of the town and point out the place from where we start and a kind of program.
Perhaps on personal e-mail send back this picture after annausment who is coming. It would be nice to meet other people in there favorit high heels.
I try to get a long weekend free of work and stay over in a commedation or..... and enjoy the meting and the weekend as a small holyday.
Please try to get a date and we sees who is able to come.

Thanks sofar and go in high heels,
A3

Might not be too bad flying into Cardiff Airport.

it is the closest airport but it is miles fom Cardiff, you would have to check out the links to the city as well.

There's also Bristol Airport which I think has more flights.

Would be handy if we were doing a meet at Peachy's.

Yes Bristol Airport wouldn't be too bad for our Peachy Shoes Meet (when we announce the date) - a fifteen munute taxi ride.

However, for the Cardiff Meet, it is well over an hour's drive from Cardiff, and much longer again by public transport. I think Cardiff airport is the only reasonable option for air travellers to Cardiff.

Alternatively, any overseas visitors to London can get the train from Paddington to Cardiff (2 hours +) or the coach from Victoria Station or Heathrow Airport (3 Hours +).

Cheers, Heelfan

Hi Loriette!

With respect, perhaps meeting in a car park is not ideal a)because we might be wandering around a large area failing to find each other, b) because it might be tipping down with rain and c) we'd all have quite a trek to the shoe shops etc.

Can I suggest meeting in Starbucks Coffee House, 46-48 Queen Street, Cardiff, Wales, CF10 2BG ?

Queen Street is one of the main streets in Cardiff's central shopping area.
It runs due East from the South-East corner of Cardiff Castle and isn't far from such car parks as the ones around the City Hall and City Art Gallery etc.

We could assemble there between 10.30 and 11am, enjoying a coffee as we wait for everyone to arrive, and then we'd be on the doorstep for moving off and shoe-browsing, lunching and socialising.

What do you think?

Cheers, Heelfan
