Default Late eighties pumps - Highlights

Hello,

I am always on the look out for Highlights in size 12. These shoes were sold through Payless Shoesource. More specifically I am looking for pumps (high, low, flat, or wedge) from the late eighties and early nineties. If anybody has anything that fits that category that is looking to make room in their closet I would be more than happy to help them out.

Thanks,
AZShoeNut

I am curious. Why Highlights?

You know, I think that it has to do with when my interest in heels really came into its own. At that time there were gals wearing Highlights pumps all around me and I couldn't get my hands on a pair. Finally after a couple years I scored a pair of my own and it was a most awesome experience. Even though there are many shoes available in my size now days none of them seem quite as nifty as those old shoes from Payless do. I have purchased really nice Pepe Jimenez pumps and other great shoes but none of them really seem to do the trick. I am perhaps stuck in the past but the shoes of the past are what I really dig.

Also, the punk rock chicks from that period all seemed to wear the same type styles that Highlights offered. I know it’s a little crazy but I really miss seeing that punk rock look around.

If you have a picture to post, either of your pair or another location on the web showing this style of pump it would be great! Does anyone have a pic of the original Payless ones?

No, unfortunately I do not really have any good pictures. The only pairs that I have now are basically flat or mid-low heels. I have one high heeled pair that is in really bad condition that I hope to fix as best I can some day. I am always on the lookout for good pics though.

It seems every season Payless produces at least one style that is a knockoff of a much more expensive one. I think the first pair I ever bought from them was the Sam & Libby knockoffs they were selling back in the '80s. That's also when I discovered that Payless sizes their shoes larger. In most designer name shoes I wear an 11W whereas at Payless an 11W is too large unless it's a very high heel. In lower heel styles I take a 10W.
Good luck in your search anyway. Have you tried EBay??
