New Look - Black Oxfords in size 8

Bit of a long shot this, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Having thought there was plenty of time to acquire some of these (in black as picture), I may have missed my chance. I rang New Look Customer Services today trying to find a pair in the North London area, and was told there are none available at stores in this region.

They have not been put on their internet site because they are a limited 'special purchase' item, originally available in small quantities at larger stores.

So ...... If you see these in a black size 8 .... PLEASE let me know ASAP.

Sadly, Milton Keynes lived up to (what for me) is its reputation. (All show and no substance.)

80 mile around trip, only to find they had put the wrong shoe to one side for me. Everyone in the shop helpful and apologetic, but £20's worth of fuel and a little over three hours of my afternoon wasted.

Bought a tan pair (knowing I'm not going to keep them), but took them hoping they wouldn't fit. I really didn't have time to try them on in the shop, having waited there for almost half an hour. They kindly searched the stock room (where they found the tan ones), and rang around a couple of other large shops, before I asked them to give up so I could leave. I managed to get back to collect herself from work with 2 minutes to spare, so timing really was that close.

At home I tried the tan pair. Sadly, they fit and are REALLY easy to walk in.

So, anyone out there seen a black pair, size 8?

Shoe dye? I've used it on a pair of light grey boots that I wanted to be black and it worked well.

The soles are quite vivid. I did think they might be dye-able until I noticed just how vivd they were......

I've been keeping a wary eye out for the style you were after in Watford. M.K. had some, but none larger than a 7. Bluewater=none. Oxford Street=none.

I had no luck unfortunately

They had none at all - in black, tan or anything else.

I got the feeling they've never stocked them there, judging by the saleswomans' blank expression when I described them & also their absence from the window display which was promoting every shoeboot/oxford style that they stock.

New Look did tell me when I rang them, only larger shops got them. They were a limited quantity product and went where they would move quickly. As obviously they did.

I'll have to move a bit quicker myself, next time .....
