Default "Baby on board" stickers

What is the point of these? Is it to discourage people from intentionally ramming the back of your car? Or is it in case people who are inconsiderate enough to drive in your boot might have a change of heart if they think that there's a sprog in the car?

Maybe I should get a "Healthy adult, but still doesn't want to be hit from behind." sticker for mine.

... and when they do, they aint wearing a seatbelt and the parent is driving like a complete moron. And why do they insist on having some huge 4x4 for one small child?

Maybe I should have one of those stickers:
"Up to 78 passengers WITHOUT seatbelts on board"

It should be illegal to display them unless you actually had a child inside, much like L plates and learner drivers...

I think that they're only there to say "Look at me! I have a kid and you probably don't!"

I saw two girls in a car once displaying a "baby on board" sticker, and when I pulled up alongside them there was indeed a baby in the back. They were also both smoking with the front windows open about an inch. Obviously damaging the poor wee beggar's lungs was a lesser concern for them...

I don't see the point of them either. Its usually the baby in the back that survives a bad car crash when everyone else is killed. It would be more to the point to have a 'Granny on board' or ' Beware there is a woman driving this 4X4 ' sticker.
Of course in these mad times of political correctness, it could be there to warn you that it might be sick or pee on you, or even give you a nasty suck!

Hey Chris

Totally blinding fog lights are also useful for this when people try to tow a lift behind you or are simply trying to read your chassis's serial number while driving along.

Just switch on your fog lights at the moment you can no longer see their number plate and if that doesnt work, then just slow down to 5mph (On single carraige urban roads) or around 40mph on the motorway

They soon get the hint...

Those of you that have done this will understand.

Bringing home your little girl from the hospital for the first time is terrifying. On that journy everybody seems to drive like lunatics!

It is not surprising that some forlk are driven to putting a sticker in their back window.

For me it works, even though I never used one myself, it is a good indication that the person driving the car has just had a kid, their minds are on other things, they are suffering from lack of sleep and they are checking on the little one more than the road.

keep away from them.

Then they shouldn't be driving.

I agree Chris, the owners of those vehicles who display those signs are doing so in a misguided belief that they will affect other persons' driving habits. If we needed to be reminded that our driving isn't up to scratch then we shouldn't be driving at all, or if it's an excuse for possible irratic driving, then again, we shouldn't be behind the wheel.

To continue my ranting...........
Why do people drive around with their fog lights on when it's not foggy or snowy?
...........and those middle lane 'hoggers' on the motorway!
