Rep Power: 0 | Jeff, Firefox: Your new software point size is too small It looks like you set up the point size of your new software for 640 by 480 raster users exclusively. I run my screen at 1600 by 1200 and get eye strain reading it. Your old software did not have this problem and looked great on my screen.

Rep Power: 16 | Well Gee Wow Arno, is it too inconvenient for you to move your mouse pointer up to "View" and click on "View/Text Size/Largest"????
Or, if that doesn't work, how about "Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display/Settings" and temporarily changing to "1024 x 768"??
Or would you like someone to come hold your hand for you while you do it to make sure you don't foul it up??? :drinking:

Rep Power: 16 | Why not reformat the screen size? It only takes ~10 seconds. The only danger in reformatting is when you go UP in resolution, or in number of colors, not DOWN.

My Mood: Rep Power: 22 | Arno,
what size screen are you using?
I view mine at 1600x1200, but I'm using a 21" screen and don't have any trouble with reading the text |

Rep Power: 0 | Francis - I am using it on a 24 inch monitor. I got it to show wide screen DVD-s. The proper raster for that monitor is 1920 by 1200 but Windows 98se will not let me use the driver for the monitor and substitutes its own which gives me only 1600 by 1200.

My Mood: Rep Power: 22 | shouldn't be a problem with the font being small then, but I can see why you say that it's small.
I can see mine easily and, as I said, on a smaller monitor. The lowest resolution I would set my monitor too would be 1280x1024 otherwise everything looks massive :) |

My Mood: Rep Power: 45 | First, I don't have any control over the new set up. Second if I ever have any problems with text sizes on web sites I simply adjust the fonts button. Third, it's good practice to cater for the most common set ups ie 1024x768. If you have some unusual mega resolution, don't expect the web to bend over backwards for you.
It may be possible to interrogate the screen set up and alter the pages sent accordingly, but that might slow the server down when 90% use 1024x768 or lower, so why compromise the performance for a few odd cases. |
