Exclamation Forum Instructions / User manual

Dear All

I shall take some time to provide you with a VERY detailed guide of how everything here at the hhplace forums works and what its all for.

This post will be updated regularly so please be sure to check it or subscribe to this thread.

Instructions for the rest of the website can be found from the website homepage.

Website navigation:

Main forum menu: Runs across the top of the forum:

User CP ==> Your personal user control panel.
FAQ ==> Common forum questions and answers.
Members list ==> Registered members list (Not "Brand new members")
Calendar ==> Forum events / heel meets etc. Subscribe to events.
New Posts ==> View the latests posts since your last visit.
Search ==> Search the forums (Disabled for "Brand new members")
Quick links ==> Todays posts/buddy list and shortcuts to useful features.
Logout ==> Log yourself out and clear your browsers cookies.

Forum navigation: Starts from the forum main page:

From the forum main page you can enter any of the forums here and browse that forum and all of its threads/posts and this will then add whats called a "breadcrumbs" menu at the top of the screen just below the main menu, and another "breadcrumbs" menu at the bottom of the screen for you so that you can navigate your way back out of that forum.

Message posting features:

The members information area and what it all means:

Members username:
Click the username to see the profile, send PM/email, add to buddylist, visit their homepage or find more of that members posts.

Member titles:
As members progress and become a more valued community member, their member title will change from "Brand new member" when you first join to something else later on and this changes with the more a member participates. Almost like a little "Recognition" for there participation.

Join Date: The month and year this member joined the website.

Location: The members location (If they update their profile)

Posts: Number of posts made by this member (Doesnt represent the quality)

Thanks: How many times this member has thanked others for their efforts.

Thanked x Times in x Posts: Times this member has "been thanked"

Rep Power: This is a members reputation here at hhplace.org
Green = good / Blue = Neutral / Red = bad = These cannot be abused!
(If you put your mouse over this you can see their current reputation status)

Messenger icons: This shows that members status for each messenger application
(You can click on these to contact members via that messenger program)

http://www.hhplace.org/discuss/image...ser_online.gif: This means that this member is online now.
http://www.hhplace.org/discuss/image...er_offline.gif: This means that this member is currently offline now.
http://www.hhplace.org/discuss/image...reputation.gif: This allows you to add/remove reputation points to this member with a reason.
http://www.hhplace.org/discuss/image...ons/report.gif: This allows you to Report a bad post to all moderators/admins and give reasons.

Using the red triangle to report a post is completely anonymous
and your complaints are never revealed to the offending message owners and also has the benefit of not causing arguments in forums or having to post horrible messages complaining in public about another member.

If you do raise a complaint about another members post in a public forum, the admins/moderators reserve the right to delete it (To keep the peace) then deal with your complaint accordingly for you.

The message posted area when reading:

Top right hand corner: #xx (post number) and Permalink (Direct link to that post)
In the main message window below the actual message there are several icons:

http://www.hhplace.org/discuss/images/vbseo/furl.gif: Submit this post to furl http://furl.net

(These are community promotion links and are a fantastic way of getting hhplace.org / and your post articled on these huge community websites to spread the word)

These are an excellent way of promoting the posts and getting more people involved.
