I lived in Brussels in 1968,69 & 70 and I remember there were a lot of women wearing heels back then (I remember this one woman that I used to see every couple of days on my way home from school, walking down the sidewalk wearing the highest pair of heels I'd ever seen (classic black patent pumps with ankle straps.) And, the last time I was there in 2000, there still were enough women wearing heels to make it very interesting.
