I've posted about this at length elsewhere, so I'll be brief, but I think it's relevent here:

I was out in Manchester with some friends, and there were two girls standing at the bar, one of which was wearing a very attractive pair of black patent platform Mary Janes with very high chunky heels. She caught me looking at her shoes, and said "You like my shoes, don't you?". I was honest and told her that they looked great on her, and that I'd noticed them because I wear heels myself. Both her and her friend thought it was really cool, and she asked what size I wore. It turned out we were both an eight, and she immediately asked if I wanted to try on her shoes and I spent a very happy few minutes wearing them. She complimented me on my ability to walk, my shaved legs and having nice feet! Unfortunately she had a boyfriend, but she did invite me to join them at the club they were going on to, and offered to let me wear her shoes there.

Sadly I had to decline as I didn't want to run out on the friends I'd come out with. In addition to the two girls, when I got outside one of the girls with us, who I don't really know, said that I looked great in the heels and that she loved that a masculine guy could wear heels.

This last weekend at the singles dance, I danced with 5 or 6 different women, while wearing my black leather ankle boots with 5" heels.

While out on the dance floor with one woman, another looked over at me and said loudly, "I love your boots!"

Well, for me, curiosity about how my mom could walk in high heels got me started back when I was around 14 and the only way I could answer that question was to wear her shoes. Right then and there, I caught the bug and the rest was history. Attention? God no! I don't worry about that sort of thing. While the sight of a man wearing high heels can indeed be attention grabbing, especially for a guy as tall as I am (6-2), all I want is to blend in with my surroundings as best I can and go about my business. The sexual angle? In the very beginning perhaps, admittedly, it was rather stimulating, arousing even, but not anymore. Nowadays, heels are just another part of my wardrobe, nothing more.

Several years ago, a Boricua wearing those J.Lo Timberland imitations chatted me up when I was in a well known bar/club in NYC which specialises in Caribbean music. I was wearing black ankle boots very much like them, they came from a site I've mentioned on these boards before.

She asked me about my boots and we got into a discussion about men's clothing styles. I gathered she doesn't like the "thugz" thang. I told her that as long as women fall all over "thugz" and the media such as eMpTyV promote it, that men/boys will continue to wear it.

I saw her in the club a few times after that. She looked a fair amount as LaLopez did in her more Boricua days, the bountiful behind and all.

No fear of "R'n'B types" here, but caution of anyone with a shaven head and FUBU. "Thugz" are "Thugz," period.

Wanted to add that she was very pretty. She was dressed in a full skirt with the boots and had a tam on her head. She also had the obviously blondined hair and wore blue eyeshadow so beloved of Boricuas. She did have a bountiful behind, and I miss LaLopez' behind. Where did it go?
