I would say that anybody can tell what is the best heels height for men. That is an individual problem or property....my perfect heels are 4" high...lower I feel that I have no high heels...higher...I can not even stand., almost.

Most comfortable heels for me are of 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 inch.
I can just feel them and enjoy them.
2 inch heels are like I have no heels at all.
My limit is 4 inch as I don't walk easy anymore.

Oh, forgot to mention.... my favourite heel height.... Hmm. As long as I can feel the heel is there then that's cool! I really like my 5in loafers, but I'm also really starting to like my new 4in sandals. I also like my 3.5in ankle boots.... so take an average of about 4.25 inches! Heheh

I believe, that 3.5 to 4.5 inches are the best heel heights for men. Still easy to walk on, having the feeling to walk on heels and making you not too big.

My average outdoor heel height is similar like Squirrel Heel's. Mostly I wear in daily life my beloved Buffalo platform boots (5''), the Jean-Gaborit knee boots with the selfmade conical 4'' heels, the black/white laced platform ankle boots from Fantasy shoes with 2'' platforms and 5.5'' heels and my new pointy varnish boots with 4.5'' stiletto heels. I think these models are the favourite choice of my shoe closet (you must know that I'm a bootlover :P), because they all are very comfortable to wear, they look pretty for my taste and have the right size.

At the moment I'm lurking for the new models of FUSS in male sizes. I'm crazy about the fashionable pointy velours stiletto boots! I assume that these boots have a heel height between 4 and 4.5 inches.

PS

@Robert: My posting is no objection to your opinion. I'm glad about every guy wearing heels. You prefer 2.5 inches, I prefer 4.5 inches. I don't like postings like "Heels below 4'' are no real heels!" :D

Any heel is a real heel. <1in is a real heel, as it's still under that section of the foot - i.e. at the back! So nobody can say that <4in isn't a real heel, cos that's just plain poppycock! (That's British slang, not dirty!)

Or "load of f-----g rubbish"? A young lady at the Bracknell field office often used that expression.

I'd go with the high end of Micha's estimate. 4 1/2 inches is good for walking around the house and retrieving the newspaper during hours of darkness. It is also high enough to get me aroused.

I love heels as high as I can stand them. So far I have tried up to 6 inches and I feel very safe and secure wearing such lethal weapons. It is getting quite painful to walk around in them for very long though. I wore 6 inch heels in the house for a week and developed an ache in both calves.

Now I'm relaxing in my slides and my spike-heeled boots have been standing neglected in the closet for the past few days (planning a gruesome punishment no doubt).

Micha, thank you. If I would wear 3 to 4 inch heels I couldn't walk very far or walk the whole day as I see and feel it now.
Squirrelheels said somewhere else it's just practice and perseverance.
I know, I don't walk much in heels, I go mostly shopping in my male flat shoes. If I want to wear heels I have to be sure I go somewhere I can't meet family or friends. It's getting better all the time to have more confidence this part of the outside walking.

I'm quite happy in my 4" heels for an evening out, and i don't think I'll go much higher than that. I don't want to end up with a collection of 'bedroom' heels at the moment, I'm happy walking around in mine. So for me, I think around 2.5" to 4" is fine with me for heely days.

Day to day, as I've said no end of times before, I don't wear heels, but I'm quite proud of the fact that I can change from trainers to heels, and walk around in heels for two days without any ill effects, then go back to flat shoes for Monday morning.

I find my 4 inchers good enough for the moment. I have sandals coming in that I think are 5in but I couldn't see myself walking through a mall in them. The 4in ones I probably could walk through and shop but not the 5in
