If you like pointier toes, buy that style but in a larger size. I do this, it works wonders.

There are some really good websites with stories that talk about the fascinating things high heels do for a woman. Maybe you could together look into one of those articles and see that heels aren't just torture devices, but items that make a woman really stand out, to feel sexy, divine, self-reliant, etc. Maybe she is kind of oldfashioned and favors only comfort?

High Stilettos are NOT everybodies cup of tea. You and her might not find resolve that is satisfactory . . . for you! She just might not care for the whole concept.

Again "T'would be a nice world if everybody thought, fealt and reasoned the same way . . . They DON'T!".

We know it's important to YOU, it might NEVER be to HER.

The simple reply to this: "How to convince my wife to wear high heels?" is - "You don't!"

I'm in the same situation as you and I have tried for years (+10) to make her wear heels - she will do it but with much "Oh they hurt!" "And I feel like a hooker!" etc. etc. When we get home they go back in the closet for some months. If I ask her (Please...) she will back up and say: "I will wear them when I feel like wearing them" (Which is twice a year!)
Some times it get too much for her and some of the shoes I bought go in the garbage can ($$$)
I guess I (and you) will have to live with it :-)

this rather neaderthal,but have you tried threats of physical violence?....just kidding...of course...not very politically correct is it...maybe it will set of a furious debate...been kind of dead around here lately....if this labels me as a malcontent... i plead....GUILTY.....lol.

For me it worked quite well, but what certainly helped was that my wife has always been into "elegant style", dressing up, etc. She wasn't into heels at all when we met though. My strategy was to convince her that wearing heels simply adds a lot of just that to her overall appearance. Also, I didn't ask her immediately to wear 5" stilettos. I started with buying her 3" block heels, and then over time (maybe over 1 1/2 yrs), they slowly changed to pointy-toe, 4" stilettos. Now, 4.5" is no problem, 5" without platform at special occasions, and I also got her multiple platform heels with up to 5.5 - 6" heels (also more for special occasions). Try to find out how she defines "hooker heels" and then either avoid asking her to wear those styles or do baby steps towards them. For example, I know she would never want to wear clear plastic heels/platforms or thigh boots. Of course, she knows that I love it when she wears sexy heels, and I told her that from the beginning on as well.
In conclusion, she may have a desire to dress up and care to look good to begin with, and then you have to convince her that heels strongly add to elegance. So, instead of asking her to wear them because you like them, you'll teach her to like them herself! Plus, go small steps and take your time.
Another aspect: though she doesn't know that I like to wear heels also (though rather occasionally only), I found it very helpful to try certain styles of shoes myself and find out their pros and cons, so that I know which problems can occur that would bother her; and those are the styles that I avoid buying her then. With "styles", I don't mean a specific shoe, but rather to see the difference between chunky heel and stiletto, platform vs. no platform, Mary-Jany vs. pumps, etc.

I've come in late on this - but I have read all the posts and must admit I agree with 'Firefox' - in that you will never convince a non-heel wearer to wear heels regularly.

Looking at your original post - my comment would be - if you are REALLY attracted to women who wear high heels - why did you marry someone who doesn't like wearing them too often?

Very good point. In my case, she liked wearing heels already before we got married. Get her accustomed to heels did happen all before this stage.
