Were they uncomfortable when you first put them on, or did they become that way as the hours wore on? Not that this in any way compares to your ordeal, but I remember wearing a pair of ~$150 black leather and nylon(low-heeled) steel-toe SWAT style workboots for aproximately 17 hours straight during several double shifts at the Nevada Nuclear Test Site with my feet in agony for the last several hours (but couldn't change out of them because I was in a "hot zone" with anti-contamination suit on). They weren't at all what I'd call "fashionable", but they were expensive (at least for me at the time), and were required by the job--otherwise I would have worn something else--ANYTHING ELSE!

Okay, convince was probably a poor choice in words. What can I do, info to give her, or just suggestions was my main reason for this thread, many people were fixed on the word "convince". But I was hoping for answers to:

"Maybe some advice on how they should fit, what excercises she can try or how to walk in them, or some pads to put in them. Or just a way that I can convey my desires to her."

Any info would be great: Shoe sizing tips, where to purchase (mail or take her to a store), etc.

Thank you for all the responses, and would greatly appreciate any other help.

I wouldn't order them by mail. That's a bad idea as you can never assess the fit properly without trying them on. Take her to the mall and settle on something slightly higher than she usually wears that you both like. There's no point going from 2" to 5" overnight so take it slowly. It could be she wants to top out at 3, 4 or whatever, and you'll have to respect that.

She could also just wear them for 2 or 3 hours with you for an evening out with not too much walking involved. After all, there's no point her wearing all day at work or shopping if she's just wearing them for you.

What has worked for PostCode, to get me to wear high heels more often (I can never wear them enough for PostCode), has been the compliments he gives me. When a man tells a woman how gorgoeous and sexy she is and has a hard time keeping his hands off his wife or parnter, for me, nothing goes further!

My wife thinks that wearing 31/2 inch high heels with a dress that goes no lower than her knees is looking like a hooker.I dont believe this and i have told her she looks attractive and feminine not trashy.How about some comments out there on my statements. DON K

Let her get comfortable wearing high heels with what she is comfortable with first. I know shorter dresses and skirts look great with high heels, but let her wear what she is comfortable with first. You dont want her to feel like you are trying to make her into something she is not or something she may be uncomfortable with.

Don K, take your wife on a vacation to NYC and she'll feel like she's wearing a nun's habit compared to what the stylish, sophisticated women wear here.

I have a similar concern with the originator of this thread. I LOVE my wife to wear HH, but she either doesn't at all, or wears her 4" boots ALL day when we are out and about, then complains that her feet hurt. I'm not surprised, and I dont expect anyone else here is.
With Fran' there is little compromise on anything. It's all the way, or nothing. If all the way doesn't work, then it's nothing.
She also thinks along the lines of Don K's wife, that she looks like a hooker.
I dont believe she EVER did, no matter what she work, but all I can do on that one is try to convinse here is that she can be elegant without looking sexy, sexy without vulgar, then there is just plain vulgar. Having every man desire her, while knowing she is committed to me, therefore unavailable, is the best.

...I've tried this and it works for awhile, then she starts to complain about wearing heels all the time..I've told her I'd be more repsonive to her all the time...IF she wore HH's more..she just quits wearing them after time, then gets mad because I lose interest...or don't act like I did when she wears them...Hey, they turn me on..what can I say..she don't wear them, I don't get turned on...not hard to figure this one out!

Here is what I would recommend:

1) shoe selection advice along with feet and leg exercises at http://internetdump.com/users/jenny/wearing.htm

2) consider soft leather (kidskin or calfskin) instead of patent leather for comfort. Soft leather stretches with wear. Patent leather will NOT stretch.

3) consider rounder toe shoes to prevent the toes from being squeezed together. See picture below. Here is a Canadian site that sells round toe court shoes in soft leather: http://www.northbound.com/a/
