Default Do women have a shoe fetish??

A question I have often wondered about. First, to start off, I will admit I have a shoe/sandal fetish. Have had it for years. I love to wear womens sandals and heels. Several years ago I got tired of "enjoying" my shoes in private, and started to wear heels in public.
For the most part, wearing heels in public has been no big deal. It seems that women are the ones who notice my shoes the most. Occasionally they will ask why I am wearing womens shoes (I like the look, feel and style). Some have said thay like my shoes and they look good on me.
Many of these women have made comments such as "I love shoes," "I wish I had a pair like those," "those are sexy," etc.
Even my wife has many pairs of shoes, she loves sandals - as an aside, we wear out heels together - and loves to go shoe shopping.
Getting back to my question - do women have shoe fetishes? My wife, and a few of the other gals I know well enough to ask, say no. But they seem to love shoes more than I do!!
Does anyone want to respond and tell their thoughts? I would love to know... Thanks.. SF

I think it's a matter of degrees. Some women most definitely love shoes and spend a LOT of money on them often buying several pairs in a single trip. Others own about three pairs and only buy shoes for comfort.

Some men are like the first group of women- yours truly for example!

Oh I definately do! I've loved shoes forever. I can actually pin down why too. I went to a catholic school, and of course, had to wear uniforms. The only thing that wasn't strictly regulated was what shoes we wore. If I remember correctly they had to be flats, but other than that... Well I had metalic shoes, purple shoes, red shoes, strappy shoes.. you name it I owned it. And this was while I was in 8th grade! It did help that my mother worked at a shoe store at the time though!
I went through a few years where I wasn't feeling good about myself and my shoe collection went away. I threw out alot since they didn't feel right, or look right or I just didn't wear them. I turned into a 'pratical shoe' type of gal. Fortunately! things are better now and I'm back to my old love.. shoes!

Before this thread gets too advanced, I think we need to define the difference between simply having a liking for shoes and having a fetish for them:

HAVING A LIKING - Many women like shoes and have largeish shoes collections without this qualifying for being a fetish.

HAVING A FETISH - involves being sexually aroused by admiring, owning or wearing the shoes. This can become compulsive. In its most extreme form, a fetish for shoes or other objects can be added to (or even be a complete substitute for) the enjoyment of normal sex.

Regarding the latter (the true fetish), it used to appear to me that it was only men that ever had it. However, on her most impressive and ground-breaking "Jenny's High Stiletto" website, Jenny herself admits to having a sexual "Wet" when putting on particular high, sexy heels. Also, in Lucy's Story of her life in high heels (see below here on "Stories with a Heely Theme") Lucy very candidly admits to having experienced the same thing.

Can we ask any other lady members if they can be as candid as Jenny and Lucy, and tell us whether their shoe collections are the result of simply liking to dress up nicely, or whether their is an element of sexual "turn on" or compulsion. Your frankness would be most useful in furthering our understanding of the High Heel Phenomenon!

Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Like JinxieKat, I love shoes and the higher the better. I agree with Heelfan though, the word 'fetish' is overused and inappropriate for most people. I would suggest that I have an addiction, even a compulsion, regarding heels and I certainly feel deprived if I'm not wearing them.

I do find it quite arousing to know the effect that my shoes are having on some of the men that see me. To that extent I am excited when I put on my heels to go out, but I don't think it is the heels themselves that are the sexual turn-on so much as the knowledge (much expanded since I found this site!) that I am an object of envy to some women and admiration, even eroticism, to some men. Quite simply, I enjoy the attention, and if that results in a man going home and having erotic fantasies about me, then it really doesn't matter - I shan't know anyway! I know it is very non-p.c. but I'm too old to worry about being a 'sex-object' - in fact at my age it would be something of a miracle anyway!

Next time I put on my 61/2" heels I shall try to think honestly about whether they make me aroused and if they do I promise to post here again.

Love,

Anne Louise

I always had a shoe fetish, not just very high heels, but nice feminin shoes were my thing. You can compare it a bit with Carrie from Sex and the City. It wasn't until quite recently that I moved on to becoming a real high heeled woman because of someone else's high heel fetish.

In my opinion there are 2 different fetishes here. Shoe-fetish and High heel fetish.

Hmm.. that is a good question. High Heeled Fetish.. I would say yes. My ballet boots do factor into bedroom play, but are not needed. I do also enjoy the attention, but that also goes hand in hand with the fact that I dress attractively as well. No sence in wearing heels with yuck clothing. Suits, skirts, blouses.. those all count in the overall appearance I present while wearing my high heels.
Yesterday I went out hunting for good shoe stores in my area. I found a little block downtown that has several shoe stores. I walked into one that was so crowded with shoes and racks and shoe boxes! Oh my, shoe heaven. And displayed in the window were many pairs of high heels. I was poking around when I found tucked into the back a pair of 6" heels by The Highest Heel, and in my size. I had to try them on. I put both shoes on, yikes. The bend that the ball of the foot has to make. But I digress. I tettered around in them and made some silly comment about not being able to walk in them all the while feeling a bit flushed and naughty. The salesman just said 'I don't think those are for walking in'. Ahem.. That's when I noticed how he was looking at me tottering about in the shoes. Oh my!
It was an interesting trip and no, I didn't buy them ;)

Hi Jinxiecat
I notice that Cinthy who posted just before you wears 6 and 6 1/2 inch heels every day all day.
Isnt it possible that if Cinthy can do it you can too, if you want to go that high.

If 6 1/2 inch heels don't have an ankle strap it is much harder to walk in them. when they do, you basically walk on a very severe tiptoe.
It is very hard and tiring, but in my experience, the more you practice and train yourself, the better you get at it, but don't make yourself illusions it will NEVER be easy or comfortable.

Cinthy, I'm sure you are right about the appeal of shoes generally rather than heels in particular though I think 'fetish' is much too strong a word. Most of the women I know have a bit of a 'thing' about shoes generally. A lot of them admire my heels and are a little envious of how easily I walk in them but most, largely I think because of the fear of social disapproval, would never consider wearing anything so high themselves!

Jinxie, you should, you really should, have bought those shoes! It sounds to me as if you have the same sort of determination that I have, so you would be able to walk in them after a while, provided you work up to that height bit by bit. Of course I don't know what size you or Cinthy are, but with my U.K. size 8 I don't find 61/2" a particular problem. With a smaller size 6" might be the practical limit. And please don't think of high shoes as being only for the bedroom (though I guess ballet shoes are a different matter), they are for showing to the outside world, walking in proudly, and enjoying the attention. If as a consequence you get a bit of a turn-on that's just a pleasurable side-effect!
