Interesting thread this. Hmm, Cinthy you really got a point there.
There's a big difference between shoe fetish and heel fetish.

I think most of the men are obsessed and fixated by the heel height and the actual angle and bend of the foot.
My dear husband said that it's very arousing for most men to see a woman in heels so high that she can't walk in them (without suffering). This leads to S/M I think.
For me it would be an awkward situation, forget it.

I see high heels as a challange and a chance to be taller, because I'm short.
High heels make my legs look longer and it improves my posture, I feel superior.
If I can't wear stiletto heels, I wear very high wedges, because it hurts when I lower my heels.
Don't laugh, but in the bathroom and in the shower I have to stand on my toes because of my shortened tendons. My husband thinks that is very sexy, too. *sigh*

As you said Anne-Louise, it's more a "thing" for me, not a fetish and obsession, but I will NEVER give it up.

Finally, many high heeled shoes from Spain and Italy are a work of art, and they are the best eye-catcher you can get.

Isn't it a pity that those beautiful shoes, that Vanity describes so rightly as a work of art, should so often have fetish associations. Like her, I appreciate what the heels do for my posture and my legs, and in my case, as I'm already tall, emphasising my height. I would never wear shoes that restricted my movement to the extent that I could only walk with difficulty. In fact I take great delight in the fact that for me walking in 51/2" and even 6" heels is so effortless and even my progression to 61/2" isn't proving too much of a problem. Some years ago I was chatting to a couple of colleagues about shoes and the difficulty some women have walking in heels and consequently look clumsy in them. The remark was made to me that, 'You always look comfortable in your heels.' That's terribly important, I'm only going to wear outrageous shoes if I can do so without looking as if it is an effort. Vanity, I agree, the 'challenge' aspect is important, the feeling of being able to do something easily which most women find unimaginable and I think that, in a perverse sort of way, I rather enjoy the censure and criticism that occasionally results from wearing unconventional clothes! And who could fail to enjoy any male attention that seems almost inevitable?!

The sensual attraction focuses mainly on the sound - that quite unique 'click-clack' that is so different from the sound of lower heels
and has a sort of authority about it, the tactile 'massage' effect on the balls of the feet, which I think can be something of an erotic feeling, and the cause of the 'turn-on' aspect of heels, and of course the effect on the muscles, not just the calves, but through the thighs, and how that alters the way I walk. Of course I love the way the shoes look as well. How satisfying it is, having chosen a particular outfit, to see how putting on my shoes can transform it. I love to try different shoes with whatever I'm wearing to get just the right pair to suit the clothes and my mood. Of course I enjoy the look of them as well, partly the sheer curvaceous elegance of the shoes themselves, and not least the way in which my instep continues almost a straight line from leg to toe. Although I freely admit to having a stronger than the average 'thing' for high shoes, and to some extent shoes in general ( I can even get excited over a new pair of hiking boots!), I would hardly be writing like this otherwise, it is in no way a fetish in the true sense of that word. In fact, as I think I've said elsewhere, I doubt if there are many men either who are true fetishists.

I'm sorry to have written so much, but you know what I'm like when you get me on to the subject of shoes ..........!

I will work my way up to 6" heels, I just know that right now I'm not ready for it. I also know that if I tried right now I'd end up hurting myself. and if those lovely shoes were in the closet I'd try! I actually overdid the 'terrain' walking that I did downtown that day in my 4" heels. And yes, walking in that part of downtown in heels is definately unhospitiable terrain! Ugh, I tried to twist my ankle several times and it turns out I strained a mussle in my left calf despite the fact that it was my right ankle that I tried to turn every time. I guess it was from catching myself with my other foot.
I also need to find someplace with a good fit. I want a nice pair of leather 5" heels. Hard to find down here. I think I"m going to order a pair of the super arch from High Heels Forever here in a bit. They offer wider widths and from recent experiance that is what I need to do the highest of the high heels.
But, back to the subject briefly ;) There are just so many feel good reasons to wear heels. They range, for me, from the mildly pleasureable to the highly errotic. Mostly that depends on what I'm doing and what is going on around me. The heels add to what is going on in many ways, but they don't nessisarly create the stronger feels. At least not for me.

Larry here. I usually dont speak on my wifes behalf but she is reluctant to post here. Imho Heelfan summed it up best. Now as my wife has admitted to She loves shoes and espessialy stilletos. I'm sure that this is is similar to a person who loves stamps, guns, coin collecting and fine art's ect. Heres the catch. When Lena's really looking good, ie. A nice dress, a good hair day, complexion looking good and whatever it takes to make her feel up. Then Oh Yes! High heels are a major extension of her sexuallity and wearing them turns her on....Sincerely....Larry.

I do have a thing for wearing high heeled shoes, they make me feel sexy and powerfull. I love the sound the of my stiletto heels when im walking on hard surfaces, like tiled floors and concrete pavement. I also enjoy feeling something crunch when I step on it wearing high heeled shoes.

Oh yes, that sound is one of the main attractions. Higher heels sound deeper and even more authoritative somehow, and you feel you could rule the world. Any woman who hasn't experienced the sensation of walking on concrete in a pair of skyscraper stilettos hasn't lived!
