Finally back online!! - Again

It took some time, but finally we're back online again... I'm sorry it took so long. I hope life without the board was still good for you.

Best backup of the board db I had was from almost 3 months ago. So here it is. Let's hope we can quickly pick up where we left off.

I'm sure we'll be able to pick up again.

It's a testament to the popularity of the board that I got quite a few texts and calls from the UK guys who were disappointed when it went down.

So, after some downtime we're back again...

We had some bad luck with the new ISP. Their server on which our site was hosted had severe hardware problems and it took several days to get back on track..

And then some days for me to find some time to put things back up again..

Let's hope things keep running for a longer while now...

So we had some downtime again..

Recovering was 10 minutes work, but it took a little bit (6 days!!!) longer because I was playing with the fish and tanning on the beach in the carribean... I didn't have the means to fix things over there.

We had a corrupted database table which is now fixed.

I'm very sorry you had to be without the forums for such a long time!

PS: I know some of you have offered their help in managing the site and it is really appreciated. I think there certainly should be a second admin for these kind of emergencies and simply because two know more than one etc, etc.. Watch the forum in case you would be interested in helping out. There'll probably be some kind of a 'job'-opening for this soon.

PS2: Thanks to all those who emailed me about the forum being down, there were to many of you to reply all the e-mails. It's always good to e-mail me about these things just in case I happen to not surf to the forums one or two days.

I'd be happy to help out but there may be some better qualified people among our members. As people may know, I just do the day to day forum admin tasks and Jeff does all the major work with the system and fixing it when there is a problem.

I was also worried- HHMP was a part of my "daily internet life" and I've been missing ya all. I thought that Jenny's forum would be a nice alternative for HHMP (at least until the proper board is up) and found the new address. I think that Jeff should change the description at hhplace.org/board so that it would contain a direct link (of course unless you're gonna make the hhplace.org domain point at this board).
