If you need to quote a message you're responding to, it's not nescesary to quote the whole message. Only quote those parts that you are actually responding to. This goes especially for longer messages and messages containing pictures.. Don't quote the pictures. It simply doesn't serve any purpose and only makes it harder to wrestle through the topic.

Yes, good advice. This is what I usually do; often it is just one line I want to quote. There are two main ways to do this.

1. Use the quote button, but then remove what you don't want between the quote tags.

2. Highlight the bit you want to quote and then copy and paste that into your reply, adding the quote and /quote tags around it in square brackets longhand.

Of course Jeff wants to give you the best service, and sensible use of the board allow more storage and better use of bandwidth. As hhplace.org becomes more popular, then we need to conserve resources better.

Also, please watch the size of pictures. Huge pictures are not necessary, and a small picture of 30k or so maximum will often get the message across and load faster as well, so everybody can get the threads quicker.

Thanks for your help

Also, by making your pictures less than 500 pixels wide, we can avoid the sideways scrolling to read posts.
