I noticed sometimes people can't embed pictures using bbCode or html in their posting. This is often due to the fact the site the picture is hosted on doesn't allow 'deep-linking' i.e. linking from an other site.

You can work around this by just inserting the link to the picture in your text. The board will automagically convert it to a link which, when clicked on will open the picture in a new window. (This will probably not work for yahoo pictures though.)

Yes, sometimes you even have to physically paste the URL of the pic into a new browser window depending on the code they are using to stop you linking. Once you have "seen" the pic, you will read it from your hard drive cache and the direct link may "work" now.

as I have previously pointed to others, the linkable pics sometimes do not show due to the two facts that Jeff and Firefox have outlined.

Unfortunately the other alternative cure for this is to upload your picture to a website that allows hotlinking. Not all do!
