As I'm within a few months of sixty, I can remember when trousers on women were reasonably novel - in the 1960s when every women wore stilettos just about everywhere. And I remember reading a fashion par warning women that as trousers were male clothing taken over by women, it was quite inappropriate to wear high heels with them.

Well someone had the courage to knock that idea flat (?) and we are all the richer for it. The moral is obvious.
