Hiya, i had a bet once with my girlfreind, i said i bet you cant stay in 5.5" heels for 24 hours, she proved me wrong, she wore them from 10am till 10am the following day, she even slept in them & done the shopping in them, what a girl !!!!

It always impresses me to see people pull off heels over 5 inches. I have one pair of 5 inch stilettos and love them but 5 inches and one pair is enough. 4 inches or even 4.5 is the perfect height for me!

I had a six inch pair and really couldn't get it together. I can do the 5" and my current tallest, 5 1/2" without platforms.

I can wear 4" heels, but I haven't tested more because there aren't higher shoes in store in France...
It's not very easey to buy over 4"...
But, if I'd the choice, I'd like to test 5, 6 and 7" ...

I started wearing 4" heels almost 20 years ago. It was hard at first, but now anything up to a 4" heel (stilleto or block) feels as natural as flats. I even find most 5" heels to be comfortable for long wearing and walking, however at this height my gait is obviously slowed and my steps are noticably shortened. I've got exactly one pair of 5.5" boots that are quite comfortable for long durations.

These are good:

Above that, things get pretty iffy. I can do 6" for a limited time and distance, and higher gets painful. It's funny how a one-half inch increase can make a big difference in the higher heels.

These hurt:

For the record, I usually wear size 12 (US Womens). I would think that a person's maximum heel height would be somewhat dependent on foot size..

In the old days, when I was young, I could wear 14 cm (measured at the back of the heel) fot a short time. Never found it comfortable. In the past three months I have been wearing 12 cm stilettos for 4 to 6 hours daily. My calves get used to it.

Greetings Hans

I wear 5" every day and have no problems. I can walk in 6" high heels, but I walk slowly with short steps. Some day I'm going to buy a pair of 7" high heels and give them a try.

I had a pair of 6" stilettoes that I could wear for hours at a time without problems. Since they wore out I haven't foiund another pair as comforatable. Will 5½" do?
